Cymbals

KOREA; Goryeo dynasty (918–1392); Copper alloy; Diameter: 19 cm; Daegu National Museum, South Korea
Cymbals are used in Buddhist Dharma services. Made of copper alloy beaten into the shape of a hat, they have a large hemispherical center and a relatively narrow rim. There is a hole in the center through which a loop is inserted for holding them. The cymbals produce a clear sound when struck together.
