Mogao Cave 17: Medicine Buddha

Medicine Buddha sits in full lotus position on a lotus throne. The Buddha has a tall usnisa and a square face. A red monastic robe covers the body. The left hand cradles an alms bowl in front of the abdomen, and the right hand grasps a monk's staff. A blooming flower can be seen in the upper left corner.
