Tuyoq Caves: Apsaras

These fragments were found in the Tuyoq Caves in Xinjiang. The child apsara painted in light colors on the left appears to descend from the clouds. Stoles are wrapped around the arms and float above the figure. The cheek is emphasized with red and there is a lock of hair on the forehead. A heavenly musician holding a drum is partially visible on the right.
