Chatang: Arhat

The sculpture was located near Samye Monastery on the northern bank of the Yarlung Zangbo River in Chatang. The Arhat is seated with one hand forming a mudra while the other hand holds a whisk. The figure is inclined forward with right shoulder bared. The monastic robe worn by the Arhat has deeply incised folds. |
