Miran Stupa 5: Figures Making Offerings

CHINA, Xinjiang, Bayingolin; circa 250; 57.2 x 240 cm; National Museum, New Delhi, India
These fragments were originally part of a mural painted on the wall of Miran Stupa 5. Five figures with arched eyebrows, large eyes, and red lips carry a long black garland. Two of the figures on the left wear simple yellow garments and have short hair. The female figure between them is dressed in a green robe and has long hair. Moving to the right, a man with black hair holds up his hand and looks upwards. The figure on the far right wears a tall hat and a red robe.
