Dong An

Dong An was a folk artist who was known to have repainted the murals in the Great Hero Hall of Huayan Upper Temple in Shanxi. First constructed during the Liao dynasty (907-1125), and renovated numerous times since, the hall is marked with ink inscriptions that read Painted by Dong An of Donghuafu in Yunzhong."
