Kalai Kafirnigan: Figures Making Offerings

In this section of a mural from Kalai Kafirnigan, four figures are shown. Starting from the right, there is a standing monk holding a lotus, a kneeling male figure making an offering, and two standing female figures holding lotuses. All of them face the same direction and have clearly painted facial features that reflect regional characteristics. The monk has closely cropped hair and wears a monastic robe. He seems to be leading the other figures as they pay respect to the Buddha. The kneeling male figure is smaller in size, suggesting that he is some distance away from the others. He wears a sword in his belt, and appears to hold offerings in both hands. Both female figures wear a headband and an earring with a dangling pearl. Their yellow dresses are covered with a white cloak. |
