Mirror with Water-Moon Avalokitesvara

This mirror is in the form of a fan and resembles Chinese Huzhou mirrors created during the Song dynasty. On the back, there is a Chinese inscription stating the origin of the mirror.
Sitting in the royal ease posture, the Bodhisattva has a headdress with several ornaments and a nimbus, and is surrounded by a round mandorla. Water is shown as rippling waves below. |
