Yongtai Temple Pagoda

CHINA, Henan, Zhengzhou
The pagoda is located on a slope behind Yongtai Temple. According to a stele dated 752 of the Tang dynasty, the pagoda was probably first built in 602 during the Sui dynasty, although the existing structure is from the Tang dynasty (618-907). It was listed as a National Cultural Heritage Site in 2001.
The eleven-story, square, hollow, brick pagoda is 24 m high. There is no stone or brick base. An arched doorway is located on the south side leading to a square chamber. The spire consists of an upturned lotus and five stacked rings. The pagoda has a tapered curved shape.
