Guangyuan Thousand Buddha Cliff Rock Carvings Cave 400: Warrior

Located on the south side outside the cave entrance, this warrior is carved with an imposing, dynamic stance and a fierce expression. The figure has a topknot, glaring eyes, and a frowning mouth. The neck is adorned with a round spiked necklace and the upper body is bared, revealing a muscular build. The draped lower garment is carved with exquisitely detailed and realistic folds, giving the distinct impression of motion. The warrior has one hand raised and the other extended downwards in a fist. The detailing and realistic composition of this sculpture exhibits a high level of artistic skill.
