Qigxin: Heads of Devotees

These heads were discovered in a cave and are all that remain of statues of donors. The female's head is round and her facial features are concentrated in the center, giving a youthful look. The eyebrows are represented by incised lines and the eyes have no eyeballs. The nose and mouth are quite small and the hair is tied back behind the ears.
The male figure's hair is entwined into braids and arranged decoratively. His long mustache and curly beard have the appearance of being added to the pre-molded face and make him look decidedly older. |
