This Dehua statuette of Bodhidharma has a high forehead, curly eyebrows, deep bright eyes, a broad nose, wide mustache, small beard, and elongated ears. He wears a flowing robe with long sleeves that cover his hands. The many folds of the robe contrast with his bare chest and the simple lines of his head. Bodhidharma stands tall and majestic on the turbulent water. At the back of the statuette there is a seal imprint of the artist. |
