Loulan: Stupa

This wood carved model of a stupa was excavated from Loulan, which is also known as Kroran.
　 The stupa is 51.5 cm high and 11.8 cm wide at the base, and consists of the base, dome, and spire. The base is cuboid and is surmounted by the dome in the form of an elongated inverted bowl. The spire stands on a harmika in the shape of an inverted trapezoid. There are five stacked rings but the finial is missing.
　 The stupa has a simple design and may have been influenced by Indian stupas.
