This Cakraratna Karma Box was created in the 15th century during the Muromachi period.
The box consists of two tiers: one for storing a portable incense burner and incense, and the other for keeping robes, ritual instruments, and Buddhist texts. This rectangular box is made of wood and decorated with gilt copper alloy images of Dharma wheels and double vajras cut in half. The base of each tier has cloud-like cutouts, and the interior of the box is lined with brocade. There are illegible inscriptions on silk at the bottom. |
