Mogao Cave 384: Standing Bodhisattva

This Bodhisattva is located on the left side of the back (west) wall niche within the main chamber. The figure has a full face, indicative of the High Tang period (712-756). The hair is tied in a high topknot and the figure has smooth, white skin. The Bodhisattva wears necklaces and a stole with a long lower garment tied at the waist. The figure stands barefoot on a lotus pedestal in a tribhanga posture. |
