Aurangabad Cave 7: Musicians and Dancers

This relief is located on the left wall of the shrine. The scene displays seven female figures who dance and play musical instruments. The variation in the height of the seven figures forms an elegant arch. They are each adorned with numerous ornaments and wear elaborate headdresses. The central figure wears the tallest headdress and dances, and the others kneel or sit cross-legged while playing instruments. The posture of the central figure is dynamic as she rises up on her right foot, following the rhythm of the music.
