Bingling Temple Cave 168: Seated Buddha

This statue is located on the back (west) wall and is the principal figure within the cave. The Buddha sits on a raised throne with legs pendent, forming the abhaya (fearlessness) mudra with one hand. He has a high usnisa, round face, and prominent eyes and lips. The Buddha is clothed in a draped outer monastic robe and an inner robe tied at the waist. |
