Dehua: Statuette of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

This statuette of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva was produced in Dehua, which was well-known for the creation of graceful white porcelain statuettes.
  Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has a topknot with delicate facial features that convey compassion and kindness. The chest is adorned with a heavy necklace, and the body is covered in a long flowing robe. Avalokitesvara sits with legs crossed in a position of ease, with the right hand resting upon the left leg.
