Bezeklik Cave 48: Floor

This painting was originally located on the floor of the main chamber. It has a square at the center, inside of which are images of an incense burner and cymbals. There are patterns on the edges of the square and a swastika at each corner. Children wearing sash-like undergarments around their waist are on the left and right sides of the square. Four ducks are painted above the square and two below it. The ducks display various postures, including looking backwards, swimming, and stretching their wings. In the spaces between these images various objects are depicted. These include flaming jewels, water grass, flowers, and jewels. In addition to this painting, the floor of the cave was originally covered with images of human figures, animals, and various patterns. |
