Bebe Temple

MYANMAR, Bago, Pyay
The temple is located northeast of Bawbawgyi Pagoda in Pyay, Bago. It was built between the 7th and 9th centuries, and was one of the earliest temples in Myanmar.
The temple is a 10 m high brick building. The temple is square with arched doorways on each of its four sides; however, only the doorway on the east side is an actual entrance. Above the square structure there are three tiers, on which stands a plain, tapered, cylindrical structure with a rounded top. Originally the temple had a spire but it is no longer extant. Bebe Temple served as a prototype for later small temples in Bagan.
