Wutaishan Foguang Temple East Hall: Amitabha Buddha

The statue is located on the north side bay of the hall. The Buddha is depicted seated cross-legged on a hexagonal Sumeru throne with hands held in mudras. The monastic robe is opened at the front and elaborately adorned with colorful designs of dragons, although the decorations were a later addition. A circular rainbow aureole frames the body that crosses a Dharma wheel nimbus, which is surmounted by flames presented in filigree. |
