The Arhat is seated cross-legged in meditation. The figure has a broad forehead and a shaved head. The eyes are shut and the corners of the mouth turned down in intense concentration. The neck shows the three lines of a great person. An outer robe that is fastened with a buckle on one side overlaps the inner robe. An inscription states the statue was completed in 1099 by the sculptor Liu Yun. |
