The stupa was excavated in 1927 from monastery ruins at Tapa Kalan. Originally gilded, it has a double-tier Sumeru base that has a square layout. A row of pillars seemingly supports each tier, with seated Buddhas interspersed between the columns. The first tier has six figures on each side and the second tier has four. The stupa itself is circular and double-tier. The stupa, like the base, has columns supporting each tier with Buddhas seated in between, though some of them are damaged. A round inverted bowl is at the very top, above which there was once a footing to support stacked rings. |
