Dai Bosatsu Zendo Kongo-Ji

USA, New York, Livingston Manor
The temple is located at the northernmost end of the Catskill Mountains. It was founded in 1976, and it follows the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhist practice.
The temple occupies 1,400 ha in a forest reserve, which includes Beecher Lake. It consists of two wooden buildings built in traditional Japanese style. There is a bell tower on one side. The meditation hall is located 5 km from the temple gate. There is no main hall as the primary emphasis is placed on sitting meditation; the focus of the temple is on contemplating the teachings of the Gateless Gate.
