Siang Lin Temple

MALAYSIA, Malacca
Siang Lin means Fragrant Forest. Situated opposite the famous Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, this temple was established in 1985 by monk Jinxing, one of the founders of the Malaysian Buddhist Association. This temple was built in honor of his master, Siang Lin. The main building is two stories high with a single-eave hip-and-gable roof. It has a veranda on the lower story, a balcony on the upper story, and three arched doors on both stories. The main building houses the Great Hero Hall, Amitabha Hall, and Jinxing Hall. The Great Hero Hall is situated on the upper story and houses a seated Sakyamuni Buddha, flanked by two standing disciples, Mahakasyapa and Ananda. Both the Amitabha Hall and Jinxing Hall are located on the first story. The Amitabha Hall houses the Amitabha Buddha Triad, and the Jinxing Hall at the rear is in memory of the founder.
