Niya Temple 93A35: Buddha

Discovered in 1995 among the ruins of Niya Temple 93A35, this fragment depicts the upper body of the Buddha. The round-faced Buddha has dark hair and a nimbus depicted with a thin red line. He has broad shoulders and wears a patched monastic robe. There is an urna between the eyebrows. The two narrow eyes gaze downwards. A thin mustache can be seen above the lips. |
