Viet Nam Quoc Tu Temple

VIETNAM, Ho Chi Minh City
Viet Nam Quoc Tu means Vietnam National Temple, and it is the most important temple in the city. Built in 1963, the principal buildings of the temple include the main hall and Quoc Tu Pagoda. The main hall is a single-story structure and contains a statue of a seated Sakyamuni Buddha. In front of the main hall, there are two Avalokitesvara statues: one is a stone-carved standing statue, while the other is a Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara statue enshrined within a circular niche. The seven-story square Quoc Tu Pagoda is situated behind the main hall and has extended eaves with upwardly curving corners. Every level of the pagoda houses a Buddha statue.
