Bodhisattva in Contemplation

The statue is of 6th century Baekje origin and is considered one of the most important Buddhist statues from that period. The figure is of a crowned Bodhisattva seated in the relaxation posture and in contemplation. The head is tilted to one side and supported by a hand. The skirt flows down the legs in decorative folds to cover the seat. |
