Statuette of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

The hair of Avalokitesvara is tied up in a topknot and covered with a stole. The Bodhisattva has a high forehead, an urna, thin eyebrows, downcast eyes, a wide nose, a small mouth, and elongated earlobes. There is a heavy necklace on the chest, while the body is covered in flowing robes with long sleeves. The right hand holds a scroll, while the left has a ruyi. The Bodhisattva stands barefoot on a circular pedestal with cloud reliefs. |
