This silver prayer wheel is thought to have been made in either Mongolia or eastern Tibet. The cylinder contains Buddhist texts and is connected to a long handle. It is made of jadeite with a silver ring inlaid with rubies in the middle, from which there hangs a multi-faceted counterweight. The upper and lower rims are decorated with turquoise and a beaded design, and the top is embedded with gemstones followed by a ball with beaded loops in silver. The upper portion of the handle is made of silver and engraved with floral patterns, while the lower part is made of green jadeite. The top, middle, and end of the handle have a ring of turquoise. |
