This black lacquered box is square with rounded corners and is inlaid with mother-of-pearl. It is 8.2 cm high and each side is 36.8 cm long. In the center of the lid there is the Chinese character for double happiness" framed by four clouds. It is surrounded by the eight auspicious symbols: Dharma wheel |
