Tapsansa Temple: Bell

Originally located within Tapsansa Temple in Haenamgun, this bell is now at Daeheungsa Temple. It was listed as Treasure No. 88 in 1963.
The crown is in the form of a fierce dragon with its mouth open and holding a jewel in its claw. Behind the dragon, there is a patterned acoustic tube. The shoulder is decorated with a band of lotus petals, below which there is a scroll leaf pattern, bordered by a row of beads. Panels on the upper part of the bell have nine lotus studs, and the middle section has images of Bodhisattvas seated on lotus thrones. The four raised bosses consist of lotus petals with seed pods in the center. There are inscriptions with the construction date, weight, and names of the donors between two bosses. Around the rim of the bell there is a band with scrolling leaves bordered by beads. |
