Weng Wenwei, also known as Wan-Hsiang Tsao-Tang, is a painter whose skills lie in depicting figures and landscapes, as well as creating ruled-line architectural paintings. His compositions are stable and filled with depth. Weng's works portray imagery that is skillfully painted onto delicate rice paper, using powerful strokes that flow without dispersing.
Weng moved to Taiwan in 1948 and worked as the art director at Central Motion Pictures Corporation for 12 years. In 1967, he was awarded the Artistic Design Award at the Third Annual Golden Horse Film Festival with the movie Orchids My Love." He later worked for the China Television Company |
